Interviewing a local celebrity on my morning radio show. Thousands of listeners. I ask a thought-provoking question, lean in for the answer, and—PFFFFT—a barking spider decides it wants to be on air too. The sound engineer couldn't cut it in time.
The celebrity, without missing a beat, said "That's exactly how I feel about that question!" We got more calls about that moment than any interview all year.
A listener later sent me a link to a research study on acoustic patterns that suggested our studio might be at the perfect resonance frequency. Science is amazing sometimes.
